January gets a bad wrap. It’s not bad. Kind of the big breath of fresh air after all the holiday and end of year shenanigans. I hope yours wasn’t too shabby. Our was busy!

We hosted our first ever Bingo Trivia at 4 Hands and that is now going to be a regular thing! Watch for more events at 4 Hands, Alamo Drafthouse, and more. Also reach out if you want our crew to run Trivia Bingo at your next event.

There are some really exciting projects and collaborations coming together and we can’t wait to share more with everyone. Stay tuned to this email, our socials, and our press page where you see me on Fox 2 promoting bingo a couple weeks ago!

I’ll leave you with this: Come see ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ with us Friday February 21st at Alamo Drafthouse!

Take it easy out there! Remember it’s all a simulation anyway.

34 movies. 5 phases. 1 man. 1 Peloton. 30 minutes at a time. I sweat, I laughed, I cried, all like it was my first time watching these movies that have become such a massive part of my life since ‘Iron Man’ debuted in 2008.

Today, on my real day of birth, I finished ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ to complete my challenge. All 73-ish hours of theater. My Peloton MCU rewatch is not done yet. I cant stop. Won’t stop. MAXIMUM EFFORT. The MCU shows are my next opponent. Hugh Jackman abs incoming. 1,000 miles down and counting.

Absolutely obsessed with ‘Pop Culture Jeopardy’ on Prime Video. Colin Jost delivers weekly as the host of the bastard child of regular Jeopardy and SNL Celebrity Jeopardy. It’s a tournament style weekly drop of 3 episodes and get ready to binge because theres 27 of them out now. I enjoy not feeling like an absolute dummy watching this show as well so it gets a 3.9/4.0.

For my local STL folks - thanks to all who came out to Trivia Bingo at 4 Hands Brewery. Everyone had a blast and I can’t wait to run it back. My newsletter section is unofficially sponsored by The Gramophone. I’m ending this now because my birthday lunch is getting cold. Half meatball sandwich. Half Mississippi nights club. Side of Mac and cheese. It’s a perfect 4.0 rating every damn time. Cheers squad. I am very much looking forward to WWE Royal Rumble this weekend. I predict a win by the man you can’t see - John Cena.

IT'S 2025!!!

Happy New Year all! Can't believe we made it. Its going to be such a big year with so much content on the horizon. From Captain America in just a few weeks, to Avatar in December and everything in between! Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, SUPERMAN!

And thats just films! We got Invincible coming back for season 3, Last of Us with season 2, Stranger Things, Reacher, SO. MUCH. STUFF. We're talking about it all.

And don't forget my weekly comic reviews! I can't wait to talk about it all. January has already been great, with films like Wolfman and Better Man, got to visit Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen here in STL (get the famous beef wellington, you won't regret it).

Saw the SLSO perform some Beethoven and Mahler at the Stifel theater for my second wedding anniversary. What a great month. See everyone in February!

Sam the Sleeper checkin' in! It's end of January so therefore I imagine most people have relinquished their New Year's resolutions. I haven't even started mine - silver lining being, I haven't technically given up anything.

I'm through my busiest time of year, but have a jam packed 2025 in my sights. Logan, I and Team Jakey are still working on setting dates for future collaborations and events, so stay tuned!
One thing I know for sure is that I will be on the More To Say with Randi Naughton Podcast in a couple weeks talking about all things Team Jakey and Ending the Stigma! We will let you know when that lands!

Outside of that, I have successfully binge watched Landman on Paramount+ during January. If you're a fan of Billy Bob Thorton and Taylor Sheridan as a filmmaker/producer, it's absolutely worth a watch!
